2. What does your username mean?
BlitzJaeger is a gamer tag I created decades ago as a teen. I love the German language and have a fascination with lightning, and I was starting a sci-fi world and wanted a cool character name. I looked in my handheld German translation booklet (pre-Google times) and combined Lightning Hunter. It also fit with my own name - I couldn't find the translation of my exact name (Chase) but Chase means Hunter, so I found the German word for Hunter and combined them. BlitzJaeger has been my online alias ever since, both in forums and on game consoles. It's rarely taken which helps.
It also happens to be a really cool Mecha from the Heavy Gear series.
3. Describe yourself in three words.
Imaginative, Dedicated, Honest (and I feel bad even saying that - humblebrags)
4. Are you left or right handed?
Right of course. Although I wish I could do everything with both!
5. What was your first deviation?
My first REAL deviation was this:
I had been doing a series of Fan Art for the game Infinty, and posting them on Image Shack, which worked until I posted this picture and it got flagged for nudity (which shes actually not naked) i came over here and used my account that had previously only been used to view other peoples work.
6. What is your favorite type of art to create?
Line art, concept art, pin ups. Although I am now trying to break into new styles...
7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I dont know what style I would call it, but I still struggle with faces and poses, I always need reference. Its my own fault, I dont practice enough, but I would like to be able to just start a picture and paint it out with no problems (ala Sakimichan and so fourth)
8. What was your first favorite?
No idea...something sci fi probably.
9. What type of art do you tend to favorite the most?
Mecha, Environments (mostly sci-fi or apocalyptic), concept art, pin ups, any sort of power armor or sci fi soldier themed things.
10. Who is your all-time favorite deviant artist?
I have an immense list of favorite artists. All with unique styles and abilities. So many have built their IP from nothing and are truly normal people that became famous. It would be unfair to single one out. See my list below of inspirational fellows, though it is by no means complete!
11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I would like to meet any number of Artists on here. I have spoken with many and would like to meet many more!
12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
MANY artists have impacted me by simply creating inspiring art or interacting with me when I asked them questions or they commented on my work (or watched me). Particularly (ready?):
13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
Pencil and rag Paper, but via necessity I have been leaning Photoshop and its growing on me.
14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
My room, I have thousands of inspirational images and combined with the right music and atmosphere it can be quite a charge for creating.
